10 Ways Water Makes you Beautiful

Mom I'm Tired - Drink Water!

Mami, I have a headache! - Drink water!

Mom I want to be pretty - Drink Water! (?????)

You know momma is Always right! My mom used to suggest water as the first option to solve almost every problem and, most of the time she was right! There are so many ways water is essential to our body, which also makes you beautiful.

Your body is about 70% water, it is essential to function. The general recommendation is drinking a minimum of 8 glasses a day in order to replace what you lose daily through sweating, breathing, and urine. In hot weather dehydration is even more common, so here is South Florida is definitely a priority.

We all know that drinking enough water is essential for our health, but we tend to forget how important it is for our looks, too. Among other benefits, drinking at least two liters of water daily,  improves your skin, your hair, and your waistline. Here are 10 ways water makes you beautiful.

1

Clears your skin

One of the best Pore Cleaners is Water, drinking water makes your skin clearer and prevents breakouts.

Water makes you beautiful by flushing toxins from your body, making your pores much cleaner and smoother. When the body accumulates more toxins than what the liver and kidneys can handle, then the skin takes over. Excessive toxins then leave through the skin and if the body is even slightly dehydrated then the pores become clogged. Staying hydrated helps your skin remove toxins and keep your body and pores clear.

2

Shiny and Strong Hair

Our hair is made up of 5% water and 95% protein so when you drink lots of water your hair looks more alive and bouncy.

Water also stimulates better blood flow which helps with better production of collagen as a result your hair will grow longer and thicker.

3

Energy Booster

One of the main reasons for fatigue is dehydration. A quick glass of water every hour will help you to have more energy to focus on your daily beauty routine and workouts.

4

Weight Management

Many times we feel we are hungry we are actually thirsty, drinking water is a great way to curb your appetite. So next time you feel hungry try having a glass of water instead and see if it kills the craving.

Another way water helps to lose weight is by flushing toxins and boosting our metabolism so you can actually burn and clean your body of what you don't need.

5

Reduces inflamation

The main source of inflammation and bloating is the accumulation of toxins. Drinking enough water helps your body to debloat by flushing excess liquid and regulating your digestive system.  Naturally, detoxifying your body and reducing puffiness from your face and body.

6

Long Lasting Look

Have you ever noticed applying makeup and then your pores open? That is your skin telling you it is dehydrated. When the skin is dehydrated it tends to soak up products. While doing so pores open and skin loses its smoothness.

Hydrated skin looks smooth and glowing. You can achieve it by drinking at least 8 glasses a day and also using the right skincare products for dehydrated skin. The best are serums, gels, and sprays that absorb super fast and easily nourish the skin.  My faves are MAC Magic. Radiance Fix + and The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Serum.

7

Tones your Skin

A way that water helps you be more beautiful is by preventing wrinkles. It stimulates collagen production and blood flow which improves elasticity preventing wrinkles and age marks.

One of the cool benefits of drinking water is that it gets stored in our cells, which expands when properly hydrated, helping your skin look tighter and more toned.

8

Improves your Beauty Sleep

Proper hydration ensures efficient brain function allowing for a deeper sleep. When you during sleep, your body produces growth hormone which helps collagen production, your skin and hair look brighter and smoother.

9

Fights Acne

Water is your body’s tool for getting rid of toxins and if you’re dehydrated then your pores become clogged. When ridding itself of toxins, your skin’s pH can change. When combined with clogged pores, this is an acne breakout waiting to happen! Acne, look at is a sign that your body chemistry is imbalanced and your detoxification system is jammed.

10

Sparkling Eyes

Dull, lifeless, and bloodshot eyes can be due to many factors, such as illness, diet, and dehydration. If you’ve crossed out any medical reasons then it’s time to pretty up those peepers by treating them internally by drinking water.

Your skin will let you know when it's dehydrated. If you notice open pores, makeup that doesn’t last, or is flaky it’s a signal that you need to improve your water intake. Prevent this by drinking two to three liters of water daily, you can add lemon, infusions or fruit slices to improve the taste.

How much is enough?

The best way to know you are drinking enough is by observing your skin. Your skin will let you know when it's dehydrated. If you notice open pores, makeup that doesn’t last, or is flaky it’s a signal that you need to improve your water intake. Prevent this by drinking 8 - 10 cups of water daily.

A few tips to increase your water intake.

  • Count your glasses! When you keep track of your goal it is easier to achieve. Use small cups that you can drink quickly on a few sips then count about 16 of those. On the contrary, you can try with bigger cups and drink them throughout the day knowing that you need about 4 of those.
  • Look for a taste you like - Cold, warm, sparkling you can add lemon, herbal infusions, or fruit slices to improve the taste. If you decide to use tea remember that you may have to increase the intake to balance the caffeine in it, I love White Tea, rich in antioxidants.
  • Set up reminders, some people find it helpful to have reminder alarms. Another great way is to drink a cup every hour.

Clear skin, sparkling eyes, shiny hair, and a smaller waistline, are just 8 daily cups away!

Enjoy!
